There’s something winsome about the puffed-up face of the fugu, known in English as the blowfish or pufferfish . Yet it’s also known as a dangerous fish, because of the poison in its organs. Why do Japanese people eat this poisonous fish? Let’s talk about this cuddly-looking fish and the hazard that lurks within it.

Among these, 41 restaurants have been newly awarded by MICHELIN inspectors, receiving either Two MICHELIN Stars, One MICHELIN Star or a Bib Gourmand.

Now on its 13th year, the MICHELIN Guide Kyoto Osaka 2022 edition lists 21 new MICHELIN restaurants in Kyoto and 26 in Osaka. Both cities also see an increased number of MICHELIN Green Star restaurants, whose culinary efforts champion sustainable gastronomy.
